Job summary

STR is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to build and maintain CI/CD for real-time embedded software. You will implement automation, testing, and deployment pipelines while enabling rapid prototyping and transition from research to real-time implementation.

You will work with Linux/embedded teams, containerization, and security tooling; travel ~20% for integration events and customer demonstrations. A U.S. security clearance and advanced degree support success in this role.

Qualifications

• Active security clearance (Secret, capable of Top Secret), U.S. citizenship required.
• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in computer science/engineering.
• Strong Linux admin skills and embedded Linux experience.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms, containerization, and build systems.
• Proficient in scripting (Bash, Python) and Git workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for multi-language projects.
• Create containerized dev and deployment environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Automate builds for C/C++ and Python using CMake and Conan.
• Build automated tests: unit, integration, system.
• Incorporate security scanning and vulnerability tools into CI/CD.
• Manage Git workflows and GitLab runners across sites.
• Develop scripts to deploy software to embedded/distributed systems.
• Monitor build health, test coverage, and code quality metrics.
• Support multiple teams with dependency and environment issues.
• Document DevOps processes and collaborate with engineering teams.
• Travel ~20% for system integration events and demos.
