Job summary

Frederick County Government seeks a seasoned Real Estate Manager to oversee acquisition, disposition, leases, easements, and related contracts for county properties. You will direct property operations, supervise staff/consultants, and coordinate capital project support to ensure compliant, efficient use of assets.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 7 years in public works or real estate with 3+ years supervising staff; substitutions allowed as noted.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, public administration, civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of public works operations, maintenance, or infrastructure management, including at least 3 years supervising staff.
• Substitutions available: A.D. with 9 years, or Master’s with 5 years, including 3 years supervising.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate real property acquisition and disposal with multiple agencies and partners.
• Manage county facilities and space allocation, and oversee staff involved in property negotiations.
• Prepare and administer contracts for land acquisition, easements, and related services.
• Lead negotiations with tenants/landlords for leases; review access requests to properties.
• Develop budgets for land acquisition and CIP-related operational costs.
• Maintain records of property transactions and support CIP projects.
• Provide supervision and ensure compliance with county policies and regulations.
