Job summary

Syndicator is seeking an attorney to join its growing legal team, focusing on real estate funds, fundraising, and closing activities.

You will lead and support complex fund formation, negotiate governing documents, and coordinate closings with internal and external stakeholders while managing outside counsel. Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills are essential in a fast-paced investment environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to at least one U.S. state bar.
• 7–10 years of legal experience in leading law firms, investment managers, or corporate legal departments.
• Experience with investment funds, fund formation, securities law, and fund governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support legal aspects of real estate investment fund formation, fundraising, and closing activities.
• Draft, review, and negotiate fund governing documents, subscription materials, investor letters, and related docs.
• Coordinate fund closings with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
• Manage outside counsel and oversee closing deliverables.
• Support fund-level financing transactions and due diligence.
• Review and negotiate investor transfer documentation and advise on transfers.
• Partner with stakeholders on new investments, structures, and initiatives.
• Provide legal support to investment, asset management, and investor relations teams on governance and rights.
• Oversee KYC, investor onboarding, and related compliance initiatives.
• Manage regulatory filings and reporting for fund operations.
• Develop and enhance legal processes and documentation for a growing platform.
• Assist with securities law compliance and related matters.
