Job summary

TRU Development Co. in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Real Estate Development Controller to lead the company's corporate accounting function and provide financial oversight across its development portfolio.

This full-time role requires strong GAAP knowledge, multi-entity accounting, and hands-on experience with construction financials and lender reporting. You will own project-level accounting, manage the lender draw process, oversee payroll and regulatory reporting, and partner with equity partners

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in real estate development.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and real estate development accounting.
• Experience with construction financing and lender reporting.
• CPA designation or eligibility preferred.
• Experience with Yardi, Yardi Breeze Premier, or Rabbet is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own accounting and financial reporting for TRU Development Co. and its related entities.
• Oversee monthly close, general ledger, accounts payable, cash management, intercompany activity, and financial statements.
• Oversee payroll administration and related reporting requirements.
• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, and other professional service providers.
• Own project-level accounting and financial reporting for development and construction activities.
• Maintain project budgets and forecasts in collaboration with development teams.
• Review construction invoices, payment applications, change orders, retainage, and other significant expenditures.
• Identify budget variances and communicate project financial risks.
• Own the lender draw process and ensure compliance with loan terms.
• Provide budget-to-actual analysis and financial reporting to executive leadership.
• Support development teams with financial information for project decisions.
• Maintain records for equity partners and joint ventures.
