Job summary

Trimont is seeking a Senior Associate, Investment Advisory to oversee a diversified portfolio of complex commercial real estate debt transactions, including whole loans, syndicated loans, and CMBS across stabilized, construction, and transitional loans.

The role requires deep real estate investment fundamentals, independent review of loan agreements and third‑party reports, and sound judgment across multiple U.S. markets. Onsite work at El Segundo, CA or Houston, TX is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2-5 years of related commercial real estate experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and quantitative skills.
• Expertise in market research, financial statement analysis, and loan management.
• Robust analytical and written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Asset Management: Understands multiple transaction types (whole loans, syndicated loans, CMBS) with deal sizes from $25M to $500M.
• Portfolio management of all transaction types including stabilized, construction, and transitional loans.
• Work on complex transactions independently or with a team.
• Understand macro-economic trends and real estate investment fundamentals.
• Review third-party reports (appraisals, engineering, environmental, zoning) and related documents.
• Experience in multiple markets and tracking lending market movements.
• Loan Management: Independently review notes, loan agreements, yield maintenance, and other legal documents.
• Draft internal communications and responses to servicers and appraisers; facilitate training as needed.
• Review loan modification documentation and audit requests; utilize Loan Operations systems.
• Manage data in loan management and accounting systems.
• Monitor servicer performance and correspondence for lenders.
• Track third-party certifications, bank certifications, financials, and USAP.
