Job summary
EDP Renewables is seeking a Real Estate Counsel in Houston to support development and operations with real estate documents, title review, and negotiations with landowners. The role also involves supervising Real Estate Paralegals to ensure timely, compliant completion of tasks.
Candidates should have a Juris Doctorate, 7+ years of real estate law experience, and Texas licensure; knowledge of SAP and MS Office is expected.
Qualifications
- JD degree required and licensed to practice law in Texas.
- 7+ years of real estate experience including title insurance, escrow, and power project matters.
- Experience representing developers and owners preferred.
- Proficient in SAP and MS Office; strong drafting and analytical skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal real estate advice for wind and solar projects.
- Review and negotiate real estate documents: options, purchase agreements, leases, easements.
- Supervise paralegals in document prep and title review; coordinate due diligence for financing.
- Coordinate with landowners and attorneys; ensure regulatory and policy compliance.
- Approve real estate documents and manage external counsel resources.
