Job summary

Larson Maddox is seeking a Senior Counsel to join its legal team, serving as a key business partner to leasing, development, acquisitions, asset management, and operations teams. The role covers a broad portfolio of commercial real estate assets and requires strong legal and business acumen.

The successful candidate will draft and negotiate leases and related agreements, advise on acquisitions and financing, and manage legal risk while coordinating with outside counsel as needed.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to at least one U.S. state bar.
• Approximately 5–10 years of commercial real estate experience.
• Experience negotiating commercial leases and related real estate documents.
• Background with CRE company, developer, REIT, owner/operator, or national retailer preferred.

A leading owner, operator, and developer of retail and mixed-use real estate is seeking a Senior Counsel to join its legal team. This attorney will serve as a key business partner to leasing, development, acquisitions, asset management, and operations teams, providing legal support across a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate assets.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial real estate agreements, including leases, amendments, easements, estoppels, SNDAs, and related transaction documents.
• Advise on acquisition, disposition, development, redevelopment, and financing matters.
• Partner closely with internal business stakeholders to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
• Manage legal risk across ongoing projects, leasing transactions, and portfolio operations.
• Coordinate with and oversee outside counsel as needed.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to at least one U.S. state bar.
• Approximately 5-10 years of commercial real estate experience.
• Experience negotiating commercial leases and other real estate transaction documents.
• Background with a commercial real estate company, developer, REIT, owner/operator, national retailer, or leading law firm real estate practice preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with business leaders.
