Job summary

Amazon is seeking a strategic, business-minded real estate attorney to support development, expansion, and management of Amazon's corporate real estate portfolio, including offices, labs, and R&D spaces. You will lead legal strategy on complex commercial real estate transactions and advise on portfolio strategy and site operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of post-bar admission legal experience.
• Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent.
• Experience in Real Estate Law.
• Knowledge of AI ethics in legal contexts (confidentiality, accuracy, bias).

Responsibilities

• Lead legal strategy on complex commercial real estate transactions for Amazon's leased and owned corporate sites.
• Serve as strategic legal advisor to business partners on real estate matters impacting portfolio strategy.
• Identify and flag legal risks in real estate transactions with practical solutions.
• Manage and direct outside counsel on complex negotiations with quality and cost discipline
• Advise on land use, zoning, entitlements, and permitting strategies
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Real Estate, Operations, Finance, Tax, Construction, and Environmental teams
• Structure deal solutions for novel legal and business challenges, including new asset types
• Support post-acquisition and post-lease matters including contracts and landlord disputes
• Drive process improvements and leverage AI to increase efficiency in real estate legal function
