Job summary

The O’Neill Group is seeking an experienced Real Estate Attorney (7-10 years) to handle complex commercial real estate transactions, land use, and variances in Hackensack, NJ. You will manage acquisitions, lease negotiations, entitlements, and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates bring strong contract negotiation, title diligence, and experience with developers and municipal agencies. This role focuses on PILOTs, due diligence, financing matters, and disputes with outside counsel.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law and in good standing with the bar.

Responsibilities

Draft, review, and negotiate purchase agreements, leases, financing, and closing documents.
Represent in zoning variances, special permits, site plan approvals, and regulatory compliance matters.
Collaborate with zoning boards, planning commissions, and government agencies to secure project approvals.
Conduct title reviews, environmental assessments, and zoning compliance checks to mitigate risks.
Ensure all projects align with local, state, and federal real estate regulations.
Work with outside counsel on land use disputes, zoning appeals, and real estate litigation cases.
