Job summary

Inland Real Estate Group of Companies is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. You will prepare financial statements, maintain the general ledger, analyze results, and support accounting for our real estate assets.

You will collaborate with Accounting, Finance, and Asset Management across reporting, acquisitions, audits, and process improvements, and help strengthen internal controls while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting from a four-year college or university.
• 2–5 years of professional accounting experience.
• Real estate accounting experience preferred.
• CPA designation is a plus.
• Strong understanding of general ledger and financial statement accounting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Record and review monthly balance sheet and income statement activity.
• Research and analyze financial activity and summarize financial results.
• Record acquisition and disbursement activity for new and existing assets.
• Review general ledger activity and investigate discrepancies.
• Partner with Finance, Asset Management, and other departments to resolve accounting issues.
• Assist with the development and documentation of accounting policies and business processes.
• Help maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Provide documentation and support for year-end audits.
• Assist with special accounting projects and other initiatives as needed.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, integrity, and professionalism.
