Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services is assisting a publicly traded Real Estate Investment and Development firm in New York City to find a Senior Accountant with asset management accounting, financial reporting and forecasting skills, and exposure to property accounting to join their mid-town NYC based team.

The Senior Accountant will manage daily accounting functions, maintain financial records, produce statements and forecast documents, perform variance analyses, and support the asset management department

Qualifications

• 5+ years in an accounting function, preferably in Real Estate.
• BA/BS degree in Accounting; CPA track preferred.
• Experience in period-end adjustments, accruals and analyses.
• Experience with high-volume journal entries and bank reconciliations.
• Experience in preparation of financial statements and forecasting documents.
• Ability to review investor and variance reports; understanding of asset management.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting functions and maintain financial records.
• Produce financial statements and forecast documents for management.
• Conduct financial and variance analyses to inform decisions.
• Provide accounting support to the asset management department and property managers.
• Assist with software implementations for acquired properties.
