Job summary

LHH is seeking an experienced real estate accounting professional in Nashville to support period-end close, prepare financial statements, and manage complex CAM processes across a multi-property portfolio.

The role requires a bachelor’s in accounting/finance (master’s preferred), CPA or equivalent, and 5–10 years of real estate accounting experience with CAM reconciliation expertise. Strong Excel and ERP experience (MRI/Sage) are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• CPA or comparable certification strongly preferred.
• 5–10 years of real estate accounting experience.
• CAM reconciliation experience required.
• Experience supporting multiple properties and tenants within a portfolio environment.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• MRI or Sage experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support period-end close, financial statement preparation, account analysis, and reconciliations.
• Maintain accounts receivable activity, including write-offs and cash application support.
• Prepare construction draw requests and reconcile project invoices against approved budgets.
• Monitor project costs, change orders, reallocations, and budget-to-actual variances.
• Calculate property tax accruals and coordinate estimates and appeals with outside consultants.
• Review lease activity, rent increases, tenant statements, renewals, and terminations.
• Lead CAM reconciliations and prepare operating expense estimates.
• Assist with annual budgeting, acquisitions, financing, lender reporting, and system initiatives.
• Review journal entries and reconciliations while providing backup support across the accounting team.
• Help document policies and improve accounting processes.
