Job summary

Knife River Corporation is seeking a Ready-Mix Operations Manager to lead day-to-day performance of multiple plants and fleet operations across Metro and Willamette Valley regions. You will guide plant managers, dispatchers, drivers, and production crews to deliver safe, efficient, and profitable operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in ready-mix concrete, aggregates, construction materials, or related heavy industrial operations.
• Experience managing multiple facilities, plants, or operational teams.
• Strong understanding of ready-mix concrete production, dispatch, fleet management, maintenance practices, and quality control.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage change, and drive operational improvements.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for ready-mix production, fleet operations, and plant performance.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance across facilities.
• Monitor schedules, capacity, dispatch, and delivery performance to meet customers.
• Partner with sales and ops to align resources with demand.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve productivity.
• Recruit and develop plant managers, supervisors, and drivers.
• Foster teamwork and employee growth through coaching and evaluations.
• Maintain product quality and batching accuracy with QA teams.
• Manage budgets, KPIs, and cost controls.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and responsive service.
• Travel to multiple locations as needed.
