Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a subject-matter expert in reactor physics and thermal-hydraulics to advance TRACG software and related methods. You will develop computational tools, ensure regulatory compliance, and train customers while interfacing with NRC/DOE as needed.

The role is based at GVH Nuclear headquarters in Wilmington, NC with hybrid work options, and a second hub in Atlanta, GA. A strong background in Fortran/Python and nuclear modeling is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computational methods, thermal-hydraulics, nuclear engineering, or closely related technical discipline AND minimum of 5 years of experience in nuclear methods development/neutron transport/lattice physics/nuclear cross section generation
• Master’s degree in same fields AND minimum of 3 years of experience in nuclear methods development/neutron transport/lattice physics/nuclear cross section generation
• Ph.D. in same fields with thesis in thermal hydraulic methods/thermal hydraulic correlation development/two phase flow AND minimum of 1 year of related experience
• Legal authorization to work in the USA is required; sponsorship not available

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and validate nuclear methods for core/fuel performance evaluation under regulatory constraints
• Document and present technical data to customers and internal teams
• Support licensing activities and quality assurance for nuclear software
• Collaborate with team to improve processes and ensure high-quality deliverables
• Coordinate with regulators and external stakeholders as needed
• Mentor junior staff and assist team leader with planning and execution
