Radiant in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Lead Reactor Operations Engineer to direct a team delivering operational insights for Kaleidos reactor development. You will oversee reactor operating interfaces, conduct of operations, and procedures, while remaining hands-on as a Kaleidos Reactor Operator.

The role requires 6+ years in engineering with leadership, familiarity with nuclear, mechanical, I&C and electrical systems, and a Senior Reactor Operator license.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional engineering experience in design, analysis, or testing.
• Familiarity with nuclear, mechanical, I&C and electrical systems as an integrated plant.
• Licensed as Senior Reactor Operator or Naval equivalent.
• Ability to apply first principles thinking to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Reactor Operations Engineers.
• Qualify as an operator to gain hands-on experience.
• Establish conduct of operations and fleet monitoring for Kaleidos reactors.
• Support development of control algorithms for semi-autonomous or manual operations.
• Evaluate plant response to events, accidents, and malfunctions.
• Participate in design reviews from an operations perspective.
• Ensure documentation meets DOE and NRC standards.
• Recruit, hire, and develop engineering talent for Radiant.
