Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Software Engineer II to join Corporate Technology in Plano, TX. You will collaborate on agile teams to design, develop, and troubleshoot software components for secure, scalable enterprise products.

You will leverage enterprise AI-assisted tools, contribute to code quality, and participate in peer reviews, automated testing, and secure coding practices. The role emphasizes UI/UX proficiency with React, Python, and modern SDLC processes.

Qualifications

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
4+ years' experience in React (including hooks, state management, and component architecture) and Python
Hands‑on experience using enterprise‑authorized AI‑assisted software development tools within the work environment with demonstrated ability to evaluate AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations and secure handling of inputs/outputs; ability to guide peers on safe usage.
Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern ReactJS patterns with UI/UX design principles.
Hands‑on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Proficient in automation testing with React Testing Library, Jest, and Python testing frameworks (pytest, unittest).
Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with React and Python as primary languages, plus database querying languages.
Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (cloud/AI/ML).

Responsibilities

Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions.
Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables; validates outputs through peer review and automated testing.
Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve automation value.
Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run with appropriate systems.
Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensures design constraints are met.
Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large data sets for continuous improvement.
Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data to drive coding hygiene and system improvements.
Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events exploring new tech.
Adds to team culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect.
