Underdog, a fast-growing sports-tech company, seeks a Senior Software Engineer specializing in React Native to build the core betting experience. You will own cross-cutting problems spanning iOS, Android, Ruby, and Web, ensuring high-speed, reliable performance at scale.

You will tackle tricky bugs, raise the bar for the client, coach peers, and drive design decisions that ship with confidence. This remote-friendly role offers strong compensation and equity potential.

Qualifications

7+ years of professional software engineering experience with React Native.
Proven track record solving cross-cutting or ambiguous problems across services/teams.
Experience leading technical initiatives (performance, reliability, velocity).
Ability to translate high-level goals into concrete plans with milestones.

Responsibilities

Build and scale core parts of mobile and web apps in React Native, including entry, review, placement, and tracking.
Investigate and resolve critical issues in the React Native client and implement guardrails to prevent regressions.
Lead design reviews for initiatives across iOS, Android, and React Native clients, calling out trade-offs and risks.
Partner with backend, product, and design on entry placement, entry confirmation, slip changes, errors, and bet history for speed and consistency.
Turn ambiguous goals into concrete plans with milestones and owners; use analytics to validate fixes and catch regressions.
Coach engineers on design reasoning and ownership and create reusable patterns adopted by other teams.
