Job summary

Modern Family Law is seeking a Senior Frontend React Engineer to build a greenfield family-law product with a strong emphasis on user experience and AI-enabled workflows.

You will own the frontend architecture in React and TypeScript, translate designs into production-ready experiences, and collaborate closely with product and backend engineers to align design, workflow, and data requirements. The role requires strong patterns for complex forms, validation, and secure, role-aware interfaces.

Qualifications

• Residency commutable to CA or WA offices (San Jose, Oakland, Seattle, Bellevue, Everett).
• Production experience building React and TypeScript applications with complex user workflows.
• Experience establishing frontend architecture for products with meaningful application state and integration with backend services.
• Strong knowledge of component architecture, state management, forms, routing, and maintainable frontend patterns.
• Experience building multi-step/workflow-based applications with validation, persistence, recovery, and clear error states.
• Understanding of frontend authentication flows and role-aware interfaces, including backend-enforced controls.
• Experience partnering with backend engineers to define API contracts and data structures.
• Strong accessibility, responsive design, browser compatibility, and frontend performance practices.
• Experience implementing automated frontend testing for critical components and workflows.
• Ability to review code, establish frontend standards, and guide other frontend developers.

Responsibilities

• Own the frontend architecture and implementation of the product in React and TypeScript, from shared components to production workflows.
• Translate designs into production-ready experiences, collaborating with product and backend engineers.
• Own frontend patterns for complex multi-step workflows with validation, autosave, and error handling.
• Define API contracts and data structures with the Senior Backend API Engineer.
• Establish component architecture, state management, routing, forms, and frontend conventions.
• Build secure, role-aware experiences with proper permissions and workflow state presentation.
• Integrate AI-enabled capabilities into product workflows with clear UX for generated content and confirmations.
• Own frontend performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Establish testing practices for critical components and workflows and mentor junior developers.
