Job summary

The City of Irving seeks a Water Systems Technician for the Lake Chapman raw water system, located east of McKinney near Princeton, Texas. You will operate pump stations, electrical systems and SCADA, supervise staff, and inspect and repair pumps, tanks, pipelines and valves.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED with some college or vocational training, 3 years in water maintenance (1 year pumping) or 2 years pumping with SCADA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with some college or vocational training.
• Three years of water system maintenance experience; at least one year pumping.
• Two years pumping plus SCADA experience acceptable.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel; TCEQ Class C license and Texas Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operate raw water pump stations, electrical systems and SCADA.
• Oversee subordinate staff and ensure safety and compliance.
• Inspect, maintain and repair pumps, tanks, pipelines, valves and lines.
• Prepare reports and maintain related files.
