Job summary

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) seeks a highly skilled Range Safety & Flight Termination Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency.

You will provide critical engineering for flight termination systems used on launch and reentry vehicles, and lead technical integration across hardware and software domains. Key responsibilities include acting as Range Safety expert, overseeing requirements for FTS products, and authoring formal reports and recommendations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with 12+ years of experience or Bachelor’s degree with 20+ years of experience.
• Active DoD Secret clearance required.
• Experience with flight termination systems and ordnance systems.
• Knowledge of RCC-319 and RCC-324 standards.
• Willingness to travel for mission deployments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Range Safety expert during flight tests and reviews.
• Oversee requirements development, allocation, and verification for FTS products.
• Conduct technical surveillance of FTS hardware and software development.
• Author technical reports detailing status and recommendations.
• Represent stakeholder interests in working groups and design reviews.
