Job summary

Avion Solutions Inc. is seeking a Range Safety & Flight Termination Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency in Huntsville, AL. The role focuses on serving as the Range Safety expert during flight tests and termination testing, overseeing requirements for target system FTS products, and authoring formal technical reports.

Travel to mission deployments is expected; U.S. citizenship and DoD clearance eligibility are required.

Qualifications

Must possess a Master’s degree in a STEM field with substantial experience.
Strong background in flight termination systems and ordnance systems.
Proficiency with RCC-319 and RCC-324 standards for flight safety tracking.
Working knowledge of range tracking architectures including GPS, IMU, and C-band tracking.
Excellent written and verbal briefing skills; willingness to travel for deployments.
U.S. citizen with ability to obtain/maintain DoD clearance; travel up to 35%.

Responsibilities

Serve as Range Safety expert for tests, working groups, and flight termination testing.
Oversee requirements development, allocation, and verification for FTS products.
Conduct technical surveillance across FTS hardware/software lifecycle stages.
Author technical reports detailing status, findings, and recommendations.
Represent government stakeholders in design reviews and customer forums.
Perform other duties as assigned.
