Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Range Safety & Flight Termination Engineer to support the MDA Targets and Countermeasures Engineering Directorate.

You will provide engineering expertise for flight termination systems used on launch and reentry vehicles, and oversee requirement development and verification on FTS products. The role requires a Master’s in STEM, 12+ years of experience, and an active DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) field.
12+ years of experience.
Active DoD Secret clearance.
Background in flight termination systems and ordnance systems.
Proficiency with RCC-319 and RCC-324 standards.
Willingness to travel for mission deployments.

Responsibilities

Serve as Range Safety expert for the Targets Program during flight tests, working groups, and termination testing.
Oversee requirements development, allocation, and verification for target system FTS products.
Conduct surveillance of FTS hardware/software development, qualification, acceptance, integration, and checkout.
Author technical reports detailing system status, findings, and recommendations.
Represent government interests in design reviews, forums, and working groups.
