Job summary

Fabric Labs, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Virtual Care Platform to own production reliability and patient experience. You will fix critical issues in Ruby on Rails, perform live data edits, and build self-service tools for Support and Implementations.

You will also develop enhancements for the internal admin portal and create diagnostic tooling to reduce incidents. This role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, urgency, and scalable systems in a high-trust healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• : 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, operating at a senior (IC3) level with a record of owning production systems end to end.
• Deep, hands-on Ruby on Rails expertise: navigate and edit a large, mature Rails codebase and make safe live production data changes.
• Strong debugging and production troubleshooting skills, with the composure to work incidents that are actively affecting patients.
• Based in the United States due to production console access and handling of PHI.
• Experience operating production SaaS, ideally multi-tenant, with sound instincts for reliability and safe operational practices.
• Strong written communication for documentation, runbooks, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• : Own engineering response to production and support issues during business hours, triaging and shielding the product team.
• : Prioritize by patient impact, treating issues that prevent care as critical.
• : Diagnose and fix bugs in a large Rails codebase, including root-cause changes.
• : Make careful live production data edits in Ruby to resolve urgent issues.
• : Improve the admin portal for Support and Implementations to operate independently.
• : Build runbooks and diagnostic tools for the broader Support team.
• : Partner with Support, Implementations, and Engineering to turn incidents into permanent fixes.
• : Track patterns in issues and feed improvements back to product.
