Job summary

Fleetio is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Marketplace Payments team. This remote role supports the USA, Canada, and Mexico and focuses on features that connect fleets to maintenance shops and streamline payments within our Marketplace platform.

You will join a cross‑functional team, design scalable systems, write tests, and own components from API design to data layers. Strong Rails, React/TypeScript, and payments experience are essential in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years experience as a software engineer.
• 3+ years with Ruby on Rails.
• 2+ years with ReactJS and TypeScript.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented design and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with payment systems (Stripe, Brex, etc.).
• Experience with unit testing and CI workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and implement marketplace payments features.
• Collaborate with PMs, designers, and engineers to deliver high quality software.
• Design architecture for scalable features and data flows.
• Write well-tested, maintainable code and optimize performance.
• Review peers' code and share knowledge.
• Prototype new ideas to validate feasibility.
