Job summary

Civil Works Contracting is seeking an experienced Railroad Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on railroad construction and maintenance projects in the Southeast United States. You will supervise field personnel, plan and schedule work, ensure quality control, coordinate equipment, and maintain strong communication with project management and customers.

The role requires 5+ years of railroad construction supervisory experience and a solid understanding of FRA Track Safety

Qualifications

• 5+ years of railroad construction experience in a supervisory or field leadership role preferred.
• Knowledge of FRA Track Safety Standards and Roadway Worker Protection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day field operations for railroad construction projects with responsibility for safety, quality, production, schedule, manpower, equipment, and overall field performance.
• Collaborate with Project Manager to plan execution, develop means and methods, establish work sequences, and safety plans.
• Review plans, specs, contracts, schedules and other documents to ensure field operations meet requirements.
• Develop and maintain short-term work plans and look-ahead schedules ensuring resources are available.
• Plan, schedule, and manage field crews typically 10–25 employees.
• Provide leadership to foremen and field personnel with clear safety, quality, production, and schedule expectations.
• Monitor crew performance and take corrective action as needed.
