Job summary

North American Rail Solutions (NARS) seeks an experienced Track Specialist to oversee inspections of railroad track to ensure compliance with FRA Part 213 requirements and related regulations. The role also involves identifying sales opportunities and forwarding bids to leadership teams.

A senior-level inspector is expected to diagnose deviations and prescribe remedial actions while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree preferred in construction/business management or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years experience operating a hi-rail truck and performing on-track inspections.
• 5+ years experience railroad construction, repair, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement periodic inspections to cover the railroad track network and ensure FRA Class 1 compliance.
• Perform on-ground inspections and determine seriousness of problems and best remediation.
• Inspect track structure for compliance with regulations and policies.
• Detect deviations and communicate with Area manager for remedial action.
• Prepare inspection reports for management and government compliance.
• Inspect completed work to verify conformance to regulations.
• Support market expansion and identify opportunities for growth.
• Assist in closing strategic opportunities with customers.
