Job summary

North American Rail Solutions (NARS) seeks an experienced Track Specialist to monitor railroad track performance and assure compliance with FRA regulations. This senior inspector will also identify sales opportunities and forward bids to sales and leadership teams.

The ideal candidate demonstrates knowledge of FRA Part 213, can detect deviations, prescribe remedial action, and work with cross-functional teams to support company growth. Must be detail-oriented and able to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience operating a hi-rail truck and performing on-track inspections.
• 5+ years experience railroad construction, repair, and maintenance.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery.
• Knowledge of FRA Part 213 and related safety standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement periodic inspections to cover the railroad track network and ensure FRA Class 1 compliance.
• Perform on-ground inspections to determine defect severity and corrective actions.
• Inspect track structure for compliance with policy and regulations.
• Detect deviations and communicate with Area manager to implement remedial action.
• Prepare inspection reports for management and government compliance.
• Identify opportunities for market expansion and support bids.
• Support customer relationships and contribute to closing strategic opportunities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
