Job summary

STV is seeking a Sr Construction Inspector to join our Hartford CT office. You will inspect railroad infrastructure including tracks, bridges, signals, and tunnels to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include conducting safety inspections of trains and rolling stock, monitoring records and reports for adherence to track maintenance and crew qualifications, investigating accidents, and preparing reports for state-funded railroad improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting railroad infrastructure.
• Familiar with safety regulations and maintenance standards.
• Ability to review records and reports for compliance.
• Investigative skills for accidents and incidents.
• Prepare and maintain compliance reports.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting Railroad Infrastructure: Examining tracks, switches, signals, bridges, tunnels, and other components for safety and regulatory compliance.
• Conducting Safety Inspections: Verifying safety regulations and maintenance standards for trains, locomotives, and rolling stock.
• Monitoring Compliance: Reviewing records and reports to ensure adherence to track maintenance, equipment inspections, and crew qualifications.
• Investigating Accidents and Incidents: Investigating derailments and incidents to determine causes and corrective actions.
• Preparing and Maintaining Reports for compliance with public highway railroad grade crossing facilities and state funded railroad improvements.
