Job summary

STV, Inc. in Hartford, CT seeks a Sr Construction Inspector to join our team on-site at our Hartford office. The role will involve inspecting railroad infrastructure, ensuring safety compliance, and preparing detailed regulatory reports.

The position includes investigations of incidents, reviewing records for adherence to maintenance standards, and contributing to state-funded railroad improvement projects. Excellent attention to detail is essential.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting railroad infrastructure including tracks, switches, signals, bridges and tunnels to meet safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Verifying compliance with safety regulations and maintenance standards by inspecting trains, locomotives and rolling stock.
• Reviewing records, documents and reports to ensure adherence to rules and guidelines for track maintenance, equipment inspections, crew qualifications and operations.
• Investigating accidents and incidents to determine causes, contributing factors and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Preparing and maintaining reports for compliance with public highway railroad grade crossing facilities and state funded railroad improvements.

Responsibilities of the position typically include:

• ConductingSafetyInspections:Verifyingcompliancewithsafetyregulationsandmaintenancestandardsbyinspectingtrains,locomotives,androllingstock.
• MonitoringCompliance:Reviewingrecords,documents,andreportstoensureadherencetorulesandguidelinesrelatedtotrackmaintenance,equipmentinspections,crewqualifications,andoperationalprocedures.
• InvestigatingAccidentsandIncidents:In the event of accidents, derailments, or other incidents, conducting investigations to determine the cause, identify contributing factors, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Compensation Range:

$97,980.00 - $111,341.00
