Job summary

STV Incorporated seeks a Senior Signals Engineering Specialist to lead planning, design, integration, testing, and implementation of complex railway and transit signal systems. You will mentor staff, interface with clients, and ensure safe, reliable signaling solutions across multidisciplinary projects.

The role requires 12+ years in rail signaling, strong knowledge of signal principles, train control, and system integration, with a proven track record of technical leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 years of progressively responsible experience in railway/transit signaling.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Systems, or Computer Engineering or closely related field.
• Experience with design, integration, testing, commissioning, or modernization of railway signal and train-control systems.
• Strong understanding of signal system principles, safety considerations, and interfaces.
• Experience coordinating signal systems with other railway disciplines and subsystems.
• Ability to lead technical discussions with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead or provide technical oversight of signal system designs, drawings, specifications, calculations, and documentation.
• Develop, review, and provide oversight of signal system designs and technical criteria.
• Support the design and implementation of conventional and advanced signaling and train-control technologies.
• Review plans, interface requirements, equipment layouts, and related documentation.
• Provide technical leadership across projects and mentor engineering staff.
• Participate in design reviews and identify risks, constructability issues, and design conflicts.
• Support testing, commissioning, and field activities, including system verification and validation.
• Assist in proposals, scope development, and project planning.
