Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Principal Project Manager for Rail Infrastructure in the New Jersey/NYC metro area. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage design and construction phases, and liaise with NJ Transit, Amtrak and partners to deliver complex rail projects.

The role requires 15+ years in infrastructure/transit, 10+ years in leadership of project teams, and strong writing and client relationship skills. A hybrid in-office role with competitive rewards is offered.

Qualifications

• 15+ years’ relevant infrastructure/transit experience managing rail or transit projects
• 10+ years’ experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams and engineering proposals
• Experience with NJ Transit or similar public agencies for construction management/resident engineering
• In-depth knowledge of NJ Transit project delivery processes
• Strong technical writing for proposals and reports
• Experience in growing client relationships and maintaining networks with NJ Transit project managers
• Experience in planning, design and construction management for rail infrastructure projects

Responsibilities

• Lead CD, PE, FD & Construction Management Phases for Rail Infrastructure projects
• Develop and evaluate plans meeting stakeholder and client needs
• Identify opportunities and lead procurement and business development efforts
• Mentor Northeast Transportation staff and foster collaboration
• Serve as senior project manager or discipline lead on large projects
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure scope, budget and schedule compliance
• Establish and maintain client relationships with NJ Transit, Amtrak and partners
• Ensure quality control and compliance with project specifications
