Job summary

The Scoular Company in Florida seeks an experienced Eastern Rail Senior Merchant to trade eastern rail markets (CN, NS and CSX) and manage risk/reward positions. You will build deep customer relationships with buyers, sellers, origin elevators and end users, mentoring other Merchants on the team.

Responsibilities include market analysis, logistics execution, P&L planning, and leading negotiations to ensure a favorable customer experience.

Qualifications

• 4+ years merchandising experience.
• College degree in business related field or equivalent experience.
• Proven critical thinking skills and customer service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assess market trends and form market opinions to guide trading decisions.
• Lead execution logistics planning and strategy, including freight relationships and arbitrage.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships with buyers, sellers, shippers and end users.
• Assist Trade Unit Manager with monthly, quarterly and annual P&L planning and position management.
• Coach Merchants and Merchandiser Assistants to drive collaboration across the division.
