Job summary

Scoular Company is seeking a Rail Feedgrains Trade Unit Manager to lead the rail freight trading strategy and the day-to-day execution of commercial objectives. You will manage a team of merchandisers and execution specialists, optimize capacity, and drive profitability within Scoular's risk framework.

The role requires strong market intuition, ability to read real-time market changes, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of Agri-business and/or merchandising experience.
• Strong understanding of rail freight markets and logistics.
• Demonstrated leadership and team development skills.
• Proven ability to manage P&L, risk, and customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute rail freight trading strategy aligned with commercial objectives.
• Assess freight spreads, basis movements, and market conditions to identify opportunities.
• Lead decisions on freight commitments, contracts, and transportation positioning.
• Optimize freight costs while balancing short- and long-term commitments.
• Manage trade unit P&L and cash flow with timely reporting.
• Lead and coach the trade unit team to achieve performance goals.
• Promote collaboration across trade units and product groups.
