The Radiotherapy Physics Group at the Northern Centre for Cancer Care (NCCC) is seeking an experienced registered radiotherapy Medical Physics Expert to join our team. The successful candidate will be based primarily at the Freeman Hospital but would be required to work occasionally in the Carlisle site.

NCCC runs services at both the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle and Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle and provides a highly specialised clinical service for the treatment of cancer patients.

Qualifications

• PhD or Masters in physics with specialist knowledge in radiotherapy physics.
• Registered Clinical Scientist with MPE recognition or imminent recognition.
• Strong knowledge of radiotherapy physics, imaging, planning and delivery.
• Experience leading clinical and scientific R&D projects.
• Experience teaching at postgraduate level.

Responsabilités

• Manage aspects of the treatment planning service and support 26 planners.
• Lead major projects and provide scientific and technical advice.
• Collaborate with clinicians and radiographers to ensure service meets clinical needs.
• Develop and deliver research and development activities.
• Line manage and mentor staff.
