Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Senior Radiological Engineer to lead shielding design, criticality analyses, and reactivity control work in nuclear facilities. The role emphasizes strong technical evaluations, mentoring of junior engineers, and ensuring regulatory compliance with NRC and related standards.

The candidate will collaborate with project teams, customers, and internal stakeholders, delivering high-quality results while managing safety, quality, and project costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or closely related science from an accredited college or university.
• 8+ years' experience in coupled neutron/gamma shielding design for nuclear power plants, including penetrations in shielding walls.
• 8+ years' experience with MCNP for shielding analysis, including variance reduction techniques for deep penetration problems.
• 8+ years' experience in nuclear radiological analysis, radiation shielding, and related methods.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical evaluations and provide support in shielding design/analysis, fluence, and criticality assessments.
• Communicate and coordinate with project managers, personnel, and customers on engineering issues.
• Maintain high quality and safety while meeting project schedules and costs.
• Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.
• Mentor and guide early career engineers in shielding design/analysis.
• Ensure compliance with NRC/CNSC and QA standards.
