Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a Specialty (IR) or one year with ARRT in that Specialty.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• California Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate
• California Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate
• Basic Life Support

Responsibilities

• Performs specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures.
• Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation.
• Prepares and positions patient for diagnostic imaging procedures.
• Adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views as requested.
• Determines exposure factors based on body measurements and area for imaging.
• Moves imaging equipment into position and sets exposure factors.
• Operates mobile radiologic equipment in OR, ER, or at patient bedside.
• Assists radiologists with fluoroscopy in CA with required permits.
• Prepares images for reading by radiologist or physician.
• Processes images and checks for proper identification and quality.
• Performs routine maintenance and basic repairs on radiologic equipment.
• Practices radiation protection to minimize exposure.
• Completes forms and maintains records of work performed.
• Orients new hires and trains students.
• Fills in as needed in absence of Supervising Radiology Technologist.
