Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Performs specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures.
• Explains procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation.
• Prepares and positions patients for imaging procedures.
• Adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views.
• Determines exposure factors based on patient size and body part; positions equipment accordingly.
• Sets exposure factors for proper detail, density and accuracy.
• Operates mobile radiologic equipment in OR, ER, or at patient bedside.
• Assists radiologists with fluoroscopy and other exams as permitted.
• Prepares images for radiologist review and for the requesting physician.
• Maintains quality control and records; performs routine maintenance on equipment.

Education
