Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks a Radiation Therapist - Radiation Oncology to provide radiotherapy treatments to adults and pediatric patients under physician oversight. The role involves operating treatment machines, patient preparation, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Applicants should have JCERT accreditation or equivalent, with a healthcare degree, and licensure in Texas, plus ARRT certification and BLS.

Qualifications

• Education: JCERT accredited Radiation Therapy program or equivalent; healthcare degree at bachelor or associate level.
• Experience: 4 years as RTT with Bachelor's or 6 years as RTT I with Associate's.
• Licenses/Certifications: Texas AMER REG OF RAD TECH Licensure; BLS by AHA/ARC; ARRT registry passed.

Responsibilities

• Operate complex treatment machines and deliver prescribed doses.
• Prepare and educate patients for radiotherapy and monitor treatment.
• Prepare treatment room and immobilization devices; coordinate scheduling and records.
• Ensure radiation safety for patients and staff; maintain QA and dosimetry tasks.
• Teach and supervise students; participate in program policies and meetings.
• Perform duties as assigned and contribute to continuous improvement.
