Job summary

UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento is seeking an Associate Chief Radiation Therapist to support the Chief in daily Radiation Oncology operations. You will help schedule patients, optimize linear accelerator use, supervise staff, and review treatment plans and physician orders to ensure safe, high-quality care.

Independent leadership responsibilities include staff education, quality assurance, and coordinating training for students and visiting professionals, with opportunities for research

Qualifications

• Valid certificate in Radiation Therapy Technology issued by the California State Department of Health.
• ARRT RT(T) certification.
• AHA or Red Cross BLS, or UC Davis Health CPR.
• Graduation from an accredited radiation therapy school.
• Minimum of five years of clinical experience in acute radiation oncology.
• Knowledge of current practices in radiation therapy.
• Ability to prioritize assignments during workload changes and emergencies.
• Ability to recognize and report adverse reactions to therapy.

Responsibilities

• Support Chief in daily Radiation Oncology operations.
• Review treatment plans and physician orders for safety and accuracy.
• Schedule and coordinate patient treatments and room utilization.
• Lead staff orientation and ongoing education.
• Contribute to QA initiatives and regulatory compliance.
