Job summary

EnergySolutions is seeking a Radiation Safety Lead to implement and manage the Radiation Safety Program across sites and facilities. The role includes supervising radiological disciplines, developing staff training, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

You will conduct daily surveys, prepare compliance reports, and oversee regulatory recordkeeping while guiding staff through evolving regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• General knowledge of local, state and federal radiation safety compliance regulations.
• General knowledge of the interpretation of local, state and federal radiation safety compliance regulations.
• General knowledge of the principles and practices of radiation safety.
• Knowledge of radiation monitoring, laboratory research procedures and instrumentation related to radiation safety.
• Operational health physics knowledge including dosimetry, instrumentation and waste management.
• Ability to collect, organize, analyze and report qualitative and quantitative data.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and database applications.

Responsibilities

• Implement Radiation Safety Program at a site/facility or within various radiation safety disciplines, including staff management, ensuring compliance with laws, rules, and procedures.
• Provide oversight, direction and training to staff to ensure radiation safety activities meet regulatory requirements and deliver high quality services.
• Supervise radiation safety disciplines such as dosimetry, instrumentation, waste management and health physics.
• Develop and implement training programs for staff on technical compliance procedures.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to facility operations.
• Complete radiation work plans and enforce compliance.
• Develop and implement radiation safety procedures for staff and respond to new regulations at federal, state and local levels.
• Conduct daily surveys to maintain license compliance and ensure adequate staffing.
• Compile compliance reports and oversee regulatory recordkeeping and submissions to regulatory agencies.
• Follow organizational policies and ensure staff compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
