Job summary

EnergySolutions is seeking a Radiation Safety Technician to implement the field Radiation Safety Program in compliance with all regulations. You will monitor radiological work, process shipments, and maintain records while guiding staff and ensuring proper qualifications.

Minimum five years as a radiation safety technician is required, with ANSI/ANS-3.1 qualification and NRRP certification preferred. The role involves field work across sites and requires strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High level knowledge of local, state and federal radiation safety regulations.
• Ability to interpret radiation safety regulations and apply them practically.
• Proficient in using radiation monitoring instrumentation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products and database applications.
• Ability to schedule tasks for radiation safety technicians.
• Ability to identify exposure levels and recognize trends.
• Ability to work across multiple subjects and maintain accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Implement Radiation Safety Program in the field and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Monitor radiological work controls and activities involving radioactive material.
• Process routine incoming shipments and verify dose levels and contamination.
• Maintain radiation safety records and permit data in the computer system.
• Provide training and guidance to Radiation Safety Technician staff.
• Lead and direct field staff as needed and ensure proper qualifications.
