Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in physics, radiological engineering, or related field with relevant experience.
• 7–10 years of experience (or 5–7 with an MS, or 3–5 with a PhD) or equivalent.
• Broad knowledge of Federal, state and local regulations for radioactive materials and accelerators.
• Ability to solve difficult technical or regulatory problems and implement optimal solutions.
• Experience leading safety reviews and regulatory documentation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical leader for planning and execution of high-hazard radiological work.
• Analyze radiological safety concepts and ALARA requirements to maintain a safe workplace.
• Perform hazard reviews and develop safety controls including shielding design.
• Respond to on-site radiological emergencies and report incidents.
• Develop and maintain regulatory program documentation and controls.
