Job summary

Leonardo DRS, via its DRS RADA Technologies unit in Germantown, MD, seeks a Test Engineer III to design, develop, and execute test programs for radar hardware and software, taking ownership of tests and mentoring junior staff on the path to leadership.

Required: a Bachelor's in Engineering, 5+ years of relevant experience, and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of engineering/test experience.
• Strong technical expertise in radar test environments.
• Ability to work independently on complex tasks.
• Ability to guide less-experienced engineers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and document test programs for radar hardware/software.
• Write test procedures to verify performance against specs.
• Debug test hardware/software to keep schedules on track.
• Use CAx or other design/analysis software as needed.
• Independently complete technical tasks on time and within budget.
• Review customer specs and develop designs considering cost.
• Build prototypes to retire key development risks.
• Mentor and collaborate with colleagues and customers.
