Job summary

CHAOS Industries seeks a Principal Radar Systems Development Engineer to advance radar capabilities and algorithms within a multidisciplinary team. The role focuses on designing high-performance signal processing and integrating software and hardware solutions.

You will work on real-time radar processing, modeling, and field testing, collaborating with RF and systems engineering to meet mission requirements and deliver robust capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or equivalent work experience.
• Deep understanding of radar systems and modes.
• Strong familiarity with Python or MATLAB.
• Experience with RF systems.
• Expertise in digital signal processing and algorithms.
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop radar signal processing algorithms for target detection, tracking, and classification.
• Lead the development of new radar capabilities with minimal guidance.
• Optimize algorithms for real-time performance and resource constraints.
• Implement algorithms in software (C++, Python, MATLAB) and/or hardware (FPGAs, DSPs).
• Analyze radar data to evaluate system performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and maintain system simulations and models to support algorithm development and performance evaluation.
• Design and development of radar modes.
• Contribute to system requirements and specifications.
• Modeling and simulation of radar systems and subsystems and the signal processing chain.
• Plan and lead field tests and data collection activities.
• Document and present technical findings to leadership.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers.
