Job summary

Chaos Industries is seeking a Senior Radar Systems Engineer to design and advance radar signal processing for detection, tracking, and classification. The role involves leading development of new radar capabilities and optimizing algorithms for real-time performance on RF platforms.

You will implement solutions in C++, Python, and MATLAB, and contribute to system simulations, field tests, and team mentorship. This onsite role is based in El Segundo, CA with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related field; equivalent work experience.
• Deep understanding of radar systems, modes, and signal processing techniques.
• Experience with Python or MATLAB for algorithm development.
• RF Systems experience; DSP fundamentals (modulation, filtering, detection).
• Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and independent work skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop radar signal processing for target detection, tracking, and classification.
• Lead development of new radar capabilities with minimal guidance.
• Optimize algorithms for real-time performance within resource constraints.
• Implement algorithms in software (C++, Python, MATLAB) and/or hardware (FPGAs, DSPs).
• Analyze radar data to evaluate performance and identify improvements.
• Develop and maintain system simulations and models supporting algorithm development.
• Design and development of radar modes and system requirements.
• Plan and lead field tests and data collection activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and present findings to leadership.
