Job summary

General Atomics (GA) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for Signal Processing in GA-EMS Radar Technologies. You will lead radar signal-processing developments for detection and tracking in challenging environments, collaborating across software and hardware teams.

Responsibilities include algorithm development, simulations, and architecture planning with CPU/GPU/FPGA considerations; DoD clearance is required, and strong communication skills are essential for cross-functional work.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (Bachelor, Master or PhD) in a related field.
• 9+ years with a Bachelor's, 7+ years with a Master's, or 4+ years with a PhD; substitution allowed.
• Experience in Radar Systems, Signal Processing, Digital Beam Forming, and related areas.
• Experience developing tools in Matlab, Python, and/or C.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
• Strong communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop signal-processing-based radar capabilities for detection and tracking.
• Perform system analyses, trades, and derive requirements.
• Create algorithms and simulation models for PDR/CDR support.
• Define computational needs with software/hardware teams (CPU/GPU/FPGA).
• Collaborate on backlog planning, implementation, and test plans.
• Analyze performance data, troubleshoot, and implement fixes.
• Represent GA at technical reviews and design meetings.
