Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer (Radar Hardware IPTL) in Woburn, MA, to lead all hardware development for the XTR-2 program. The role requires a 10+ year STEM background, DoD Secret clearance, and citizenship.

You will manage hardware scope, drive design, and coordinate with IPTs for system-level alignment, with on-site responsibilities at the GODDARD building. Successful candidates will oversee subsystem analyses, manage cost and schedule, and deliver hardware artifacts for CDR while

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret security clearance required before start date.
• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.
• Experience managing program cost, schedule and risk or Earned Value Management.

Responsibilities

• Owns hardware scope for XTR-2 across subsystems and develops designs and ICDs.
• Performs subsystem-level analyses (thermal, RF, EMI/EMC, power, reliability).
• Coordinates with IPTs to ensure requirements interpretation and design alignment.
• Prepares subsystem artifacts for CDR execution and test readiness.
