Job summary

AtlasBase is seeking a hands-on Sr. / Staff R&D Systems Integration Scientist to lead end-to-end integration of enzymatic DNA synthesis on CMOS chips.

You will bridge chemistry, surface science, microfluidics, software automation, and hardware, owning prototype testbeds and the technology transfer to product development. The role requires leading multidisciplinary teams, translating complex bio-hardware concepts into reliable automated platforms, and mentoring junior staff in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Advanced degree required (Ph.D. or M.S.) in Electrochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Fluidic Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of industry R&D experience for M.S. holders or 5+ years for Ph.D. holders.
• Proven track record in assay-to-instrument translation and bio-hardware platforms.
• Extensive system-level troubleshooting across bio-instrumentation, fluidics, and interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional integration of CMOS-based enzymatic DNA synthesis workflows.
• Translate assay concepts into automated, controllable synthesis platforms.
• Perform failure-mode analysis across hardware, fluidics, surface chemistry, and electrochemistry.
• Drive robustness and repeatability of enzymatic DNA synthesis on prototype testbeds.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to improve integration and transfer to production.
• Analyze experimental data using molecular biology and automated scripting tools.
• Mentor junior researchers and drive project objectives aligned with company goals.
