Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque is seeking a highly skilled R&D Systems Engineer to serve as the technical lead for the Nuclear Weapons Legacy Hardware Lab. You will guide mission development and ensure safe, secure, and compliant execution for complex laboratory operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; five years of relevant experience.
  • Active DOE Q security clearance or equivalent with ability to obtain Sigma 15.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead for Legacy Hardware Lab operations, mission execution, and strategic development.
  • Lead WDDR disposition activities involving legacy weapon systems, hazardous materials, classified hardware, and other materials.
  • Provide technical leadership for safe and secure operations involving energetic, radiological, and RCRA-regulated materials.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate program plans, progress, risks, and deliverables to NNSA customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly reports and other programmatic communications for NNSA and Sandia stakeholders.
