Job summary

Henkel is seeking a PhD-level researcher to drive development of electronic adhesive technologies at our Irvine, CA site. You will lead complex R&D projects, collaborate across functions, and push IP creation while delivering new products to market.

The role requires strong leadership, independent execution, and a track record of innovation in polymer-based composites or adhesives for electronics. Onsite work five days a week with participation in cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• PhD degree in Chemistry, Polymer Sciences, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific areas.

Responsibilities

• Develop new technologies and products in support of electronic adhesives business.
• Lead one or multiple R&D projects and ensure timely milestone advancement.
• Stay current with technology and market megatrends; secure IP position in own area of development.
• Design, develop, and support on-time commercialization of new film adhesive formulations and products.
• Prepare and deliver presentations on research projects for internal teams, management, customers and technical conferences.
• Interact with external customers and respond to requests in a timely fashion.
• Work in cross-functional teams across time zones with product development, project management, application engineering, process engineering, marketing and sales.
• Understand state-of-the-art technology advancement and apply it to product development.
• Generate new intellectual properties and pursue new ideas and technology.
